CURRENT INFORMATION REGARDING BREXIT AND CORONA VIRUS
BREXIT: DUTIES AND DELIVERY TIMES
Please note, from January 1 2021, if you are a customer located in the EU, alongside any other country outside of the UK, you will be responsible for paying taxes and duties to your local carrier or customs authority prior to, or after delivery, depending on the courier in question.
Kindly note that our prices to any country outside of the UK are free of UK VAT, however the taxes and duties imposed by the destination country are the responsibility of the customer. We are unfortunately unable to provide an estimate of these at this time. Once shipped the courier will contact you to pay the duties and taxes due on your order. In the instance that the customer refuses to pay duties and taxes and a parcel is returned to ourselves, we will refund the order (please note this excludes bespoke, made to order items) less any costs incurred as a result. This will mean outward shipping costs and the cost of returning the parcel to us, plus any administration charges levied on us by the courier.
As a result of the new requirements for documentation imposed on carriers, please note that shipping times to the EU are currently unpredictable. Long delays were seen in January as carriers, and customs, worked through a large backlog of parcels, and attempted to streamline their services from the UK to the EU. Currently this initial problem appears to have improved considerably, and delivery times are more like they were prior to Brexit. We hope that this is something that continues moving forwards, although it is something that is unfortunately outside of our control.
CORONA VIRUS UPDATE
We have seen increased delays in manufacturing and shipping from our suppliers due to corona virus impacting the availability of raw materials, as well as due to the inevitable increase in staff absences.
In the UK at peak times (such as Christmas) there has been an incredible strain on both retailers and delivery companies; both because of a surge in online ordering, and staff sickness, or in order for personnel to isolate. Fortunately, generally delivery within the UK has remained unchanged. Please do however take all of the above into consideration when placing your order. Things can change very quickly, as we are realising, and sometimes, although it can be frustrating, a degree of patience and understanding would be greatly appreciated. We are all trying our best to muddle through this, and fingers crossed, await a time when we all return to normality.
If you live outside of the UK, as we have seen, the shutting of borders has inhibited the exportation of parcels on a number of occasions. We will, as always, attempt to deliver goods as quickly as possible. However, during these unprecedented times, kindly ask that customers take this into consideration. If you have any questions then please do not hesitate to ask us.
